So I've decided that instead of writing down my posts chronologically, I will just randomly write whichever post that I want to first, so that I will be more motivated to blog haha but I love writing actually, so I am always down for it, problem is finding the correct photos to post.
I think the reason I stopped blogging before was because I was always too lazy to edit my photos before blogging them. I always wanted my photos to look great in the blog, but this time I decided to just ignore it and post them as they are haha
So don't feel nauseated if you see ugly photos ok haha the good thing is, what you see here is what you get in real life! ;)
Flea Market & Noryangjin Food Street - 12 October 2014
Flea Market
About a month ago, my Vietnamese friend Thao Duong, Korean name Ji Young 지영 told me and Ee Vonne about this flea market that her friend went to before where she bought clothes and accessories and shoes within the price of 1000won - 3000won (RM3.20 - RM9.60)!!! Most of the clothes are second-hand, naturally, but since we could check them and feel them before purchasing, I think it is ok lah!
This flea market happens every Saturday I think from 11am - 4pm and is located at the Ttukseom Resort (뚝섬유원지) stop of subway line 7. I can't remember which exit it was, but remember it is located at a riverside (Han River, I'm sure) park, so look out for that.
So last week, we finally managed to find time to go!
Many people spread out mats on the floor and just arranged all their pre-loved items to be sold. Ee Vonne went to ask a girl from whom she bought a skirt whether it was difficult and expensive to secure a spot for the flea but to our surprise, all we have to do is just register online and best of all, no payment is required!
So then we all decided that we would also come here one day to sell all our stuff before we return to our own countries because we have soooo much stuff. Selling them off would not be so much for the profit, but rather to ease our journey back home because then we would not have to lug everything back haha
On the left (in the army green trench) is my Japanese friend Moe and on the right is Ji Young who told us about the flea.
Ee Vonne, Moe and Ji Young amongst the crowd of people at the flea.
We actually only arrived at 3pm and so many of the stuff were already gone and the crowd was diminishing but we still managed to find some good stuff I think.
Shit just realised as I typed that I forgot to snap photos of our purchases ahhhhhh I am to lazy to do it lah ok so you just use your imagination when I list them down later haha
Moe and I sneaked a selfie when we lost both Ee Vonne and Ji Young in the crowd. Turned out they both bought a pair of shoes each at 3000won per pair. <____<
So by then it was already 4pm so we had to leave. But it was good too because neither me, Ee Vonne nor Moe had had anything to eat before we came and we were starving!
Purchases:
Ee Vonne: Milk-coloured Converse high-tops (3000won), cotton A-line mid-length skirt (2000won)
Ji Young: Black velvet heeled pumps (3000won), daisy dukes (1000won defug), thick-material (and apparently branded) sweater (5000won)
Me: Necklace (2000won), net top (1000won defug)
Moe: Didn't get anything! I presume she must have been to hungry to feel excited about buying anything haha
Noryangjin (노량진) Food Street
Next we went to Noryangjin Food Street located at Noryangjin (노량진) stop of subway Line 9 and Line 1. Ji Young, again was the one who introduced us to this place haha and it was such an awesome place!
From the subway, I think the exit is at Exit 3, and just walk along the street and you will find all these independent food stalls scattered everywhere! Remember to turn into corners and alleys too because there will also be food stalls lined up there.
Besides the abundance of food variety, from Vietnamese noodles, Korean spicy pork rice (제육덥밥), sausages in pancake, Korean traditional porridge, Korean kimchi rice (김치덥밥), waffles, chicken on skewers, Korean spicy rice cakes (떡볶이) etc, what's good about this food street is that everything is cheap!!!
A bowl of noodles is only 3000won??? For Malaysian standards yes quite pricey for street food, but for Korea, super cheap! Around CAU campus, what that is termed cheap usually costs around 5000won, so for 3000won, STEAL! And they are delicious and filling meals, not just dainty light street food ok!
I had Vienamese soup noodle named Pho, according to my very Vietnamese friend, Ji Young haha.
We bought it from this stall here! The chef is a Vietnamese-Korean I think! And Ji Young spoke Vietnamese to them so I guess their food is quite authentic haha. According to Ji Young, the soup of the Pho tastes almost the same as Pho in Vietnam, just that the noodles that they use here in Korea is a little bit more flat than the rounded ones used in Vietnam.
Neh, me with my noodle soup hehe
Greedy Ji Young put too much chili into her Pho so now she is tearing hahahaha
Ee Vonne and Moe decided to have Kimchi rice and they were soooo good too and only 3000won for a bowl! Coming here made us want to move from Heuk Seok to Noryangjin haha!
Sorry lah didn't manage to show what it looked like from the start because once it was in our hands, we immediately started to devour it haha!
Swore to stay off rice for a bazillion times. Still failed. Haha blame the Asian in me!
After we had out fulfilling dinner, we decided that it was too early (8 plus pm) to go back to our dorms so we went to have dessert! Moe decided that we should go to 설빙 Dessert shop (Seol Bing? - which I guess is a short form of Seoul Bingsu) because they had a new flavour: SWEET POTATO!
<Note: Bingsu (빙수): Shaved ice dessert>
Ee Vonne and I delegated the task of ordering to the half of us who were more fluent in Korean haha
But sweet potato bingsu ran out ㅠㅠ so we compromised with mango bingsu which was damn good anyway!!!
Mango pieces, yogurt, shaved ice, mango sauce and whole almond nuts!
Ending this blog post with a photo of our arrow rings which we got for 1000won each! Guess who is the spoilsport who didn't want to get one? I guess our friendship is not even worth 1000won for her hmpf!!!
All in all, it was a really fun day with everyone hehe! Let's do it again! :D
